Dance at Sperryville

The Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor a dance on Saturday, March 24 from 9 p.m. to 1 a,m. You must be 21 years of age, shirt and tie dress code applies and no blue jeans. Music will be provided by Nightfall. For more information or reservations call Joyce Lillard at 987-8952.

Animal League to meet

The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League will meet Tuesday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.

Yoga classes

Lions Club auction

The Lions Club will hold its annual benefit auction on Saturday, May 12 at the Washington fire hall, beginning at 6 p.m. Residents are asked to save their usable items for donation to this event. More information will be available shortly about pick-ups of donations; watch this space for details.

Macrame as an art form

This three-session workshop will present the art of knot typing. This method of creating fabric structure using string, rope, cords, and yams to make belts, bracelets, necklaces, plant hangers, and wall hangings. Participants will learn basic knots . . . square, double halfhitch, Chinese, crown, and wrapping. Local artist Janet Kerig is an exhibiting member who has taught fiber arts for the past ten years. The class will be held Thursdays, March 22, 29 and April 5 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Gallery in Washington. The fee is $30, plus a materials charge.
