Isn’t it funny how we take things for granted?
Take, for example, the spring on U.S. 211 below Skyline Drive. We know that the spring has been in existence for at least 60 years. Many a person has stopped to get a refreshing drink. An uncountable number of people depend on that spring for their main water supply.
Are we going to sit back and allow one person to cause enough stir that we may possibly lose this wonderful spring?
I don’t know who made this complaint, but I’ll bet my last dollar that the person is not a native of this area. If he were, he would have been exposed to the “watering hole” since he was old enough to walk.
Though not native to this area, I have known about and drank from this spring for the better part of 30 years. Is it surprising that I remain unaffected as well as healthy as a result? I think not.
