Indian artifacts explored
Bring treasured Indian artifacts to the Rappahannock Historical Society's next meeting at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 5 at the Rappahannock County Courthouse-in Washington and let anthropologist Carole Nash of James Madison University identify them.
If they are authentic Indian artifacts, chances are Miss Nash will be able to fix the date when they were made.
Miss Nash has spoken to many local groups, including the Rappahannock Historical Society in November 1990. She returns on May 5 for this special "show and tell" program.
Society members, their guests, and the general public are invited to attend, and to bring any local Indian materials they have collected.
County stickers due May 1
County taxes must be paid and registration cards must be stamped by the Commissioner of the Revenue by May 1 for the coming year.
When transferring a sticker from one vehicle to another the owner must return the old sticker and receipt to the Treasurer's Office before a duplicate will be issued. The Treasurer's Office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week. Call 675-3334 for more information.
