Club holds
meeting
Members of the Rappahannock County Garden Club were the guests of Roger Jones of Sperryville at the April 10 meeting.
Mr. Jones, an avid waterfowl and bird protector and conservationist, offers a safe haven for many species through a series of nine ponds, which are spring-fed.
Nesting boxes, protected islands and numerous birdhouses are also offered. Members saw osprey, wood ducks, Canada geese, and an Eastern bluebird nest with eggs, during their walk around the ponds.
The business portion of the meeting followed at the home of Judy Halle.
