The family of Mr. Elmer Jenkins wishes to express their sincere thanks to everyone in the community for their many acts of kindness and support. At the Ruritans meeting it was noted that Mr. Jenkins had been a strong supporter of the Club by selling fruit cakes when they first began the fundraiser many years ago.

He adviied the next Zone meeting will be held May 26 at 5 p.m. at the Linden Ruritan Club located just behind Methodist Church in Linden on Rt. 55. Cost is $4 per person. The Club voted to cancel its May 15 meeting and encouraged members to attend the Zone meeting.
Guest speaker at the Ruritan meeting April 17 was Tommy Williams, Rappahannock Extension Agent. His discussion on Gypsy Moths was very apropos. Persons desiring spraying should be advised there is a narrow window in which to do so. Should be done last week in April and first two weeks in May; otherwise, you may be wasting your money.
