down $21,000, but the Fire and ResJ cue Association is asking for an additional $8,700 from the county. The jail budget is down $73,000 because no funds are included for the addition, but an additional $41,000 is being requested for salaries for deputies and assistants.
The budget for public works shows a $62,000 increase. Two large ticket items account for most of this difference. The current budget included $100,000 to purchase the town hall, but the new budget includes a $160,000 increase in the line item for improvement to sites at the county landfill.
The budget for debt service is down nearly $4,800 because as money is repaid on loans to build the schools the interest on the remaining debt is lower.
On the revenue side most local taxes are expected to bring in more money. Funds from the state are expected to decrease by $133,000, and funds from the federal government are budgeted at $17,000 less for next year.
