When Lee Trott and I first moved to Rappahannock County, we were delighted to find many of the BBC’s Mobile Masterpiece Presentations we had missed by being too busy to watch on Sunday evenings. I refer to the remarkable version of Thackeray’s Vanity Fair and several very fine adaptations of the novels of Charles Dickens. We discovered the collection when we visited the Cabin Fever Bookstore; it was then a part of that fine establishment.
Now in it’s new quarters, the collection offers selections not found in other video stores. Films directed by Alfred Hitchcock along with collections of movies featuring Fred Astaire, Woody Allen, the Marx Brothers, Bette Davis and Greta Garbo offer a pleasurable dilemma for the movie buff.
Shakespeare is also represented in films: Julius Caesar, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing and
