Super Bowl Sunday is upcoming and everyone that’s sports oriented gets excited about the big day and what to serve! Certainly there are many prepackaged foods for the annual event, however, this week we will share with you, our readers, some recipes that Rappahannock cooks have enjoyed that we hope you will try for the big event.
Dips certainly seem to top the list and may be served with an array of crackers, chips, etc. Be creative and try a favorite dip recipe. Most are very simple and require a minimum amount of time and not a lot of ingredients. Other hot items are buffalo or chicken wings or even try a low fat spinach dip.
Hot Crab Meat Dip
2 (8 ounce) cans crabmeat or one pound of fresh crabmeat
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1/2 pint sour cream
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
Juice of 1/2 lemon ' 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
3 shakes garlic salt
1/2 cup grated cheese
Milk (enough to make creamy)
Mix above ingredients, reserving small amount of grated cheese to sprinkle on top. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.
