As for whether VDOT is concealing its own research, the solution is easy: the supervisors should ask VDOT to produce all relevant information and, this is important, the precise methodology by which it was generated. But assuring VDOT complies in every respect it remains a party of interest in the current dispute. Thus, the county cannot rely on what may be unintentionally biased findings and should conduct its own study.
