educators teach children (preschool through grade 8) how to take personal responsibility to avoid or prevent risk.
Lee Land, director of Fauquier Community Child Care will lead a workshop on “Things to Make and Do With ' Pantyhose”. In this session, participants will unleash their creativity to actually make a number of items that children can craft from pantyhose. Participants will also learn how to safely color dye their projects using materials found in the average kitchen.
A catered lunch will be provided. During the lunch period, participants are encouraged to bring items for show and tell that may give other child educators ideas they can use in their place of business.
Keynote speaker is Dr. Miriam Porter, speaking on the topic of Working with the ADHD child. Dr. Porter has years of experience in education for children and training adults to work with children. She will share a video, numerous handout materials, and ideas and information for working with these children.
