The Fauquier County Extension Office is pleased to announce that a training is planned for adults who work with children. It will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Warrenton Baptist Church. This conference will provide six hours credit for professional providers needing to meet licensing requirements. It will also offer valuable information for adults, whether paid or volunteer, who work with children.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the program lasting from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will choose two of three interactive workshops to attend. Ginger 'Ibmlinsen, a Child Care Center Director from the Roanoke Valley area will teach the art of interactive storytelling. Down through the ages, stories have been used to record history, deliver a moral ethic, or entertain. She will teach participants how to use this art to fascinate and excite children of all ages by experiencing a story told in a five senses atmosphere.
