Board actions

• Mary Ellen and Charles Smoot came before the board with a request to place a storage building in the backyard of their residence on Main Street. Tanya Richey felt that storage buildings are inappropriate in town. However, there are no ordinances banning such buildings. The request was approved by a ,3-1 vote, with Richey being the lone dissenter.

The board feels, however, that the Tbwn Planning Commission or Town Council should take another look at the issue and give the board some guidance on what they can and cannot approve. The problem is that present ordinances do not include specific guidelines concerning construction
