“Disappointed” is the word used by Rappahannock County Administrator John McCarthy, in describing Gov. Jim Gilmore’s recent signing of House Bill 2324.
The legislation — aimed primarily at Fauquier County’s special exception process, used in residential rezoning negotiations — will affect Rappahannock County as well. The bill will become part of the state code on January 1, 2000.
“We have activists who worked had for defeat of the bill, and they are very disappointed,” said McCarthy.
And county leaders share their disappointment.
