Our granddaughter, Amanda Brown, daughter of Bobby and Sarah

Our granddaughter, Amanda Brown, daughter of Bobby and Sarah Brown was invited to play a selection of music with the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band last Thursday night at the Rappahannock County Elementary School.

Amanda is a senior at Rappahannock High School and has been a drummer in the school band for seven years. Amanda was very excited about playing with the band. They presented her with a CD of their music.

The Rappahannock County High School Band played in a two day competition recently at Liberty High School near Warrenton and Amanda came away with four medals which she proudly displays on her band uniform.

The Rappahannock High School Band was in Williamsburg Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday they were in competition with three bands in their category and placed first and brought home a trophy.

Mrs. D. C. Welling of Fairfax Station was a Tuesday guest of her mother, Mrs. Jean B. Moffett and together they visited Mrs. Moffett’s brother Edward Nelson Buxton at the President Madison Inn in Omage.

Saturday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Schultz were Aldo D’Ottavio and a friend of Sioux City, Iowa. On Saturday evening they all had dinner at the Skyline Restaurant on the Skyline Drive. Aldo is a grandson of the Schultzs.

Visitors Sunday of Mrs. Addie Keyser and Mrs. Virginia Cloud were Mrs. Jeanetta Pullen of Flint Hill, Mrs. Marie Rutherford of Front Royal and Donald Keyser of Alexandria.

Congratulations to Jimmy and Vickie Beatty of Point O’Woods, Front Royal, who will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Monday, May 24.

The last session of the Weigh Down class is on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Washington Baptist Church.

The Deacons of the Washington Baptist Church will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.
