catches fire
The trash dumps at Huntly caught fire around 3 p.m. on May 14. The cause is not known, but firefighters speculate that someone threw something hot, perhaps a cigarette, into the dumps.
Fire companies from Washington, Flint Hill and Chester Gap responded to the blaze. The entire dumpster was on fire when firefighters arrived. But fortunately, the fire was contained quickly.
