Bawkey family reunion set
The family of William Claude and Fannie Cobb Bawkey would like to invite you to their family reunion on Sunday, May 23 at Rappahannock Park on US 211 near Washington. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited. “Please bring a covered dish and join us,” said an organizer.
Benefit car wash planned
The Boys JV Basketball team will sponsor a car wash on Saturday, May 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 211 Quicke Mart. The girls will sponsor the car wash on May 29, same time, same place. The charge is $5 per vehicle. For more information call Luther Stanley at 987-8277.
Cancer discussion at Library
The Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society will host a program on Prostate Cancer at the Rappahannock Library at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 11. Dr. Nini Data, a well known and respected Urologist in Warrenton will present a discussion on the need for early detection and the different procedures which are used in treating this condition in adult men. This is important for men of all ages starting with early testing although the individual may not be aware there could be a problem with his health. Also, all women are invited to attend.
Are you in need of clothes ?
The First Baptist Church of Washington will present a Clothes Closet on Saturday, May 22 and Saturday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., both days. The Clothes Closet will have all sizes from children to adult. Clothes are free, donations are accepted.
Band concerts scheduled
The Rappahannock High School Band will have a concert on June 1 at 7 p.m. at the high school auditorium. The Rappahannock Elementary School Band will have a concert on June 3 at 7 p.m. at the elementary school gym. Both concerts are free and open to the public. All are welcome.
