Miss Ashleigh Cannon has returned home after completing her first year at Radford College. Ashleigh is the daughter of Jimmie and Martie Cannon.

The monthly “Singing and Pickin Party” held at Salem fire Hall on Route 522 will take place Friday, May 21 beginning at 7 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. A good time of fellowship and great food prepared by the department is in store for those who attend.

Company No. 16 of the Reva Volunteer Fire and Rescue will hold their general monthly meeting tomorrow evening, Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Call 547-3747 for any advanced information of the meeting.

Last week was National Hospital Week and we are blessed to have close to our community the Culpeper Memorial Hospital, which recognizes needs and tries to meet them.

Mrs. Henry Wharton and Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville were Tuesday afternoon guests of Mrs. Eunice Meade on Hash Lane. Prior to visiting Mrs. Meade they had attended the funeral of Mrs. Pullen in Culpeper and visiting Ms. Lucille Baylor, Mrs. Mary Weakley, Mrs. Rosie Jenkins and Mrs. Polly Corbin, all residents at Culpeper Health Care Center.

Wedding anniversary wishes go out to Mr. and Mrs. Randy Norman who celebrate today.

Birthday wishes ]to Andrew Clinedinst, who will reach his 17th on Monday, May 24. Mrs. Steve Butler adds another year on Tuesday and may our Lord bless each of you and may you enjoy many more.

Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Mason of Sumter, S.C. were here for the weekend visiting relatives and coming especially for the American Cancer Walk; in which Mr. Mason, a cancer survivor participated.

Our prayers go out for Buddy Whorton, who underwent surgery in Fauquier Hospital on Monday.

Miss Kendra Hitt was a Saturday overnight guest of Jennifer Peregory.
