Sheffield was caught between first and second and thrown out, cutting the inning short.

Baumgardner came through again in the sixth with a two-run homer, making the, score 12-10 Mustangs. George Mason, however, put the game away in the seventh.

Sealock’s pitch count was getting high, and he started losing control of his breaking pitches. He gave up only two hits in the inning, but hit five batters. When the inning was over, the Mustangs had put six runs across. The Panthers went down in order in the bottom of the inning to put an end to the evening.

Sealock gave up six hits, struck out four, and walked three through three and-athird innings. The Panthers defense committed five errors.

The Panthers collected seven hits, led by Baumgardner’s 3-4 performance. Sealock was 1-2 with two walks. Kirk Davis collected two hits, and Russell had one hit.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The Panthers’ loss on Friday ended their season at 2-4 in the Bull Run District and 3-14 overall. They began play in the district tournament May 18, but their game ended too late to be included in this week’s edition.
