Dorothy Frye
County native
Dorothy M. Woodard Frye, 82, of Sperryville died Sunday, May 16.
Born in Rappahannock County on Feb. 17, 1917, she was the daughter of the late William “Jack” Jackson Woodard and Minnie Lee Clatterbuck Woodard.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Jackson Frye.
She is survived by three children, Rudy Frye of Sperryville, Rena Mae Frye Dodson of Front Royal and Maynard E. Frye of Orange.
Also surviving are two brothers, Maxwell Woodard and Silas Woodard Jr., both of Orange; one sister, Sarah Woodard Davis of Westchester, Pa.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 19 at Found and Sons Chapel with Pastor Carl Menefee officiating.
Interment followed at Sperryville Cemetery.

Alvin Boldridge Poe Sr., 77, of Winchester, died Thursday, May 13 at Winchester Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted May 15 at Enders and Shirley Funeral Home in Berryville by the Rev. Lynn Durbin. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville.
