This past Tuesday morning, Richard and Rena Burke became first-time grandparents. The pretty little bouncing baby boy weighed in at six pounds and 13 ounces. The proud parents, Die and Michele Burke named him Walter Milton after two of his great-grandfathers.

Walter’s other grandparents are John and Debbie Suche of Culpeper. The maternal great-grandparents are John and Velma King Miser of Albion, Mich, and the late Edward and Elizabeth Suche of California.

The paternal great-grandparents are the late Milton D. and Lizzie Heflin Norman and Walter M. and Bertha Nethers Burke of the Rock Mills and Five Forks area of Woodville.

Happy birthday greetings are sent out to Lillie Mae and Johnny Johnson. They celebrated their days on May 11 and May 19.

Please call Rena Burke at 987-8330 and leave your news items or messages on the answering machine if I am unable to pick up. I will return your calls as soon as possible. Feel free to call any time during the week through Monday morning prior to 10 o’clock. After that news items will be added to the following weeks paper.

I again would like to thank each of you for your thoughtfulness in contributing news items to June’s Woodville column.
