welcome guests to the newly opened Bed & Breakfast known as Hopkins Ordinary.
The building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built around 1820 by John Hopkins. At that time, it was a roadside inn and tavern that also served as a stage coach stop. The current owners have not only returned the building to its former purpose as a place for travelers to spend the night, but have also restored many of the features of the building itself by uncovering and restoring original fireplaces, heart pine floors, and window frames; and by bringing back an internal staircase that was removed at some point during the old hotel’s lifetime.
