For an entire school year, children at Rappahannock County Elementary School have been learning about how to stay away from drugs and alcohol with the DARE program.
Capt. Jeff Brown, Resource Officer with the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department, provided the 5th and 6th graders with Drugs & Alcohol Resistance Education classes and DARE Day is the celebration for all grades Preschool through seventh grade. For all of their hard work, the reward finally came in a huge celebration at the school on Friday, June 10, with about 1000 students, parents, volunteers and exhibitors in attendance.
