The Bluemont Concert Series kicks off its 25th summer season on Saturday, June 18th with the first of ten outdoor concerts. Still the best deal in town, Bluemont’s concerts offer an outstanding variety of world class entertainment including legendary bluegrass, folk music, zydeco, Hawaiian swing, jazz, country western, Caribbean music, African drumming and dance, along with the usual Bluemont hard-to-classify specials.
Due to construction activities at the new Fauquier Courthouse administration building and Warren Green, Bluemont concerts are relocated this season to Old Shadow Lawn at 70 Culpeper Street between Franklin and Lee streets, one block south of old Warren Green in downtown Warrenton. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Concert goers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on, and a picnic to enjoy before the show. Admission is $5 per person, $3 for Bluemont friends and seniors, $1 for kids under six; proceeds go to support our Artist-in-Education program in Fauquier schools. In case of rain, the concerts are held at Taylor Middle School.
