American citizen deserves a day in court.
We need a thoughtful review of the Patriot Act-not simply a blank check for the government. In doing so, we will join a coalition that includes not just the American Civil Liberties Union, but groups on the right like the American Conservative Union, the Free Congress Foundation; and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
These unlikely bedfellows have come together because they understand that courts are indispensable to the war on terror, which is a global contest for security and the very idea of freedom. Judges are there to remind us what we are fighting to preserve-the American way.
