Council member Claudia Mitchell gave an update on revisions to the town’s web site, advising it should be ready for viewing within a couple weeks.
Town of Washington administrative assistant Laura Dodd advised council members that she has employed Joe Wenk for mowing around the town.
Mitchell and Dodd reported a visit with VDOT representatives to research having utilities placed underground throughout the town. According to Mitchell, the cost would be anywhere from $20,000 to $100,000 per utility pole to have them placed underground for a total cost of $3-4 million.
With this information in hand, Mitchell requested that council look into other aesthetic improvements such as crosswalks made of brick, sidewalks or bike paths.
