REBECCA CAPERTON
Rebecca Caperton has heard all her life she is "really good with people." Every day her friendly personality helps her gain the respect and admiration of her patients and coworkers, and it recently helped her earn the coveted Ruth Krusie award. "I enjoy people," Rebecca says. “It's a mutual kind of enjoyment. I think everyone has something to offer and to teach." Rebecca has been a nurse for over 22 years and has worked in the Family Birthing Center for three years. She loves her job but she says there's much more to it than rocking babies. "I like the whole family concept. It really is a 'family' birthing center and I'm so proud to be a part of a patient's family for those few days."
Rebecca lives in Warrenton with her husband and their two children. She has worked for a variety of hospitals over the years, but she prefers working for a community hospital. "You have to be a really good nurse to work at a community hospital because a lot of times you see the people outside of the hospital—so you want them to have a positive experience. You want them to call your name in the grocery store to show you their baby—and it's amazing how often they do that. That’s what I love about my job. I can just tell by the way former patients come up to me that they loved their experience at Fauquier Hospital. And you can t beat that feeling."
