Homecoming
Wakefield Country Day School’s building and grounds were the venues for a myriad of activities recently in conjunction with their 33rd annual Homecoming celebration. The weekend festivities were kicked off with a bonfire hosted by the Key Club to raise funds for various charitable causes. Under the direction and supervision of Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue members, nearly all of the WCDS students in seventh through twelfth grade gathered for the official lighting of a debris pile that measured at least fifteen feet high. Club officers Kevin Riedel and Saawan Mehta did the official lighting and soon had everyone “fired up.”
Simultaneously taking place was an indoor celebration, attended by Wakefield alumni, parents of alumni, former and current faculty, parents and staff. Former students who had graduated as far back as 1983 and up through 2005 spent the evening socializing, reminiscing and dancing to the sounds of
