the job that we started. • Education: of a public school teacher of nearly thirty years, I appreciate the need to attract and retain qualified teachers. I believe that the precious tax dollars we spend on education should be spent in the classroom and not on massive government bureaucracies in Washington and Richmond. I also believe in giving parents more choices and control in the education of their children. • Transportation: We need to make sure that the 15th District gets its share of transportation dollars and we have a Delegate who is willing to fight to see that those dollars are not going only to pave over Northern Virginia. I have also called for the state to end any plan which will expand Interstate 81 into an eight to twelve lane , mega-highway which will destroy the beauty and character of the Shenandoah Valley forever. • Biggest concern: My biggest concern for the 15th District is the preservation of our rural character. I grew up in this district and returned home to work here the first chance I got. I want to help presen/e our scenic beauty, natural resources, and family farms for future generations to enjoy. • Would you support two-term limits for Governor? Virginia is the only state in which the Governor is limited to one term, so I am interested in a change. However, I am concerned that our part-time legislature as the representative of the people might lose more ground to an executive branch bureaucracy that already knows how to wait them out when it comes to real government reform. I hope we can find a wqy to let future Governors serve up to two consecutive terms while maintaining a balance of power in Richmond. • Last book read: John Adams, a biography by David McCullough. • Favorite food: Any food on which it is socially acceptable to pour gravy.
