Those renovations include a parking lot with ten spaces and a drain field for the building’s septic needs. The Salvanos were present at the October Planning commission meeting, with plans for their proposed renovations drawn up by Clarke Surveying. However the plans were still incomplete, and they were not available to the planning commission before the meeting.
“There is a dilemma about the public not having a chance to comment on these plans, because the information was not there in time,” said Planning Commission Chairman Charlie Strittmatter.

Public co. .om about the Salvano’s application centers around the fact that it requires a zoning change and its location. Currently, 597 Zachaiy Taylor Highway, the business’s proposed location, is zoned residential. That would have to be changed to “village commercial” in order for it to be legal for a business to operate out of the building. Some county residents at the meeting were concerned that such a zoning change is not supported by the county comprehensive plan and could set precedents that could be exploited by future applicants.
