Washington plays Bach

The “Smithsonian at Little Washington” series presents another “Brilliance of the Baroque” concert at the Theatre at Washington, Virginia on Saturday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m. This concert will be devoted entirely to music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Harpsichordist James Weaver and cellist Kenneth Slowik will offer a program of suites, preludes and fugues, and a concerto. The music illustrates the remarkable range of styles in which Bach, arguably the greatest of Baroque composers, wrote with unparalleled fluency.
As founder of the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society, James Weaver established a comprehensive series of historically informed performances which have gained international prestige.
