She was known to be a wonderful mother.
She is survived by her children; Mary Jane Settle and her husband Fred of Front Royal, Wilbur Lee Atkins and his wife Sue of Sperryville, and Joyce Lillard and her husband Ricky, also of Sperryville. Additional survivors include 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters Eva Dodson of Sperryville and Virginia Woodward of New Market.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Benton Atkins Sr. to whom she married June 29,1935 and he passed April 17, 1976, two children, Josephine Mae Jenkins and Eugene Benton Atkins, Jr., one grandchild, Jerry Lee Jenkins, one sister, Vennie Dodson, three brothers, Amis, Allie and Cletus Clark.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday October 22 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 850 Spenyville Pike, Culpeper, Interment was followed at Sperryville Cemeteiy
