Town Council and the Tbwn Planning Commission, indicates that Washington could be nearing the end of a struggle to create a new Comprehensive Plan that began a year and a half ago.
“The Comprehensive Plan is not perfect, but I believe that it’s the best that we can do. I don’t think we’ll ever have a perfect document. I do think this is something we can move forward with,” said Planning Commission Chairman Gary Schwartz at the start of the meeting.
However, the concerns expressed by members of Washington’s governing bodies over Middleton Inn and other properties left outside the PSA could mean that the current draft of the plan will see some changes before it is approved by the Town Council. Adjusting the line that defines the PSA was brought up at the meeting by Schwartz and Council Member Alice Butler, whose home is outside the primary service area.
“In order to jump that fence we’d have to rewrite the plan,” said Schwartz, of redrawing the sewer service line.
