Prior to those accusations, Edwards had a promising career as a high school girl’s basketball coach in the area. He coached at Fauquier County High School and Highland School in Warrenton before coming to WCDS, where he was heralded as the next promising head coach of their girl’s basketball program. He also coached an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) girl’s team that had members from Fauquier, Rappahannock and other, surrounding counties.
During the Rappahannock trial, made brief by Edwards’ guilty plea, the victims, who were both under 17, were referred to only by initials.
The incidents that led to Edwards’ charges were . described by Commonwealth Attorney Peter Luke. They occurred in situations where Edwards was left alona with the juveniles, and consisted primarily of "inappropriate physical
