Bluestone, a local blues band whose musical talent included David Ruckman, a Wakefield parent. Some of the visitors had not been back to Wakefield Country Day School for a visit in over fifteen years and were amazed and pleased to see how little the school had changed, both physically and curriculumwise.
On that Saturday, the beau-: ty of Rappahannock County in October served as the back-drop for the school’s Fall Festival, which was organized in sections scattered throughout the school grounds. The festival was open to the public, and beautiful fall plants for sale by Children had their choice of any number of activities from which to choose, and each class hosted a different activity to help raise funds for their pet projects. Among the offerings: The Model United Nations had face painting, baked goods and the ever-popular moon bounce; fifth and sixth grades offered ring toss, tattoos and a grab bag; second and third grades had pumpkin painting and cider, the libraiy sold books for only 25 cents and also provided necklace making; the Key Club offered students a football toss as well as s’mores and a pinata; and Pre-School challenged little ones to “Guess
