Humphrey is no

Castleton resident, llama farmer and perennial county meeting observer Clyde Humphrey read a letter from himself and Gwen Hays to the BOS during the public comment period. Humphrey and Hays urged constraining the school budget in order to help rein in taxes. They suggested two lines of attack. First, setting a budget for the school based upon available funds rather than upon the school systems estimate of its needs. Second, Humphrey and Hays said “the school programs that are not part of the core education curriculum, specifically, the extra curricular athletic and music programs” are not the responsibility of the taxpayer. They offered that “we believe that the general public should not be expected to pay for these programs. ...” which should instead be financed through private fund raising.
