firearm on Grindstone Lane on Sunday, December 4. A female complainant claimed to have been herding several cattle that had escaped onto the road when a neighbor allegedly fired a rifle or shotgun at her while yelling threats. The neighbor admitted to the RCSD that he had fired the weapon, but claimed that he had" done so into the air to frighten away the cattle, and he denied yelling threats. According to Sheriff Larry Sherertz, both parties involved in the incident have a history of animosity toward one another, relating to past disputes about cattle.
“This thing has a history of crossing accusations,” said the Sheriff. The RCSD is still investigating this incident.
4:40 p.m. Sunday, December 4.
Tbny Turner, 48, was driving his 1992 Honda Accord on US 211 west of skyline drive when he lost control of his vehicle. The 48-year-old resident of Stanley, VA ran off the right side of the road, striking a guardrail. He was transported from the scene with minor injuries. State Trooper KerriAnne Corbett charged Turner with Failure to Maintain Control.
