to emphasize that we believe the National Park Service and Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors have been excellent stewards of the Hazel River. As a resident who regularly traverses the river, it is in pristine condition and not threatened in any way by development, residential or industrial because of the current regulations in place in Rappahannock County. As a result, I see no reason for further Federal and State regulation and would strongly oppose the nomination of the Hazel River as a Tier III Exceptional River.

Since the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regulations regarding such a designation are required to follow regulations by the U.S.
