Wakefield’s varsity teams had a couple of tough losses last week with each squad dropping three point • decisions at Fredericksburg Academy. Wakefield’s boys suffered a 5350 setback despite 40 points from Patrick Dale, a WCDS athlete of the month. Dale scored 20 points in each half and rimmed out a three-point attempt in the final seconds. Wakefield’s girls team got 14 points from Caitlin Hammelman, also a WCDS athlete of the month, but were beaten 35-32 by the Falcons to drop their record to 9-9. WCDS were also dealt a 65-22 loss to Rappahannock County on Monday. Katherine Russo, Emma Clark and Caitlin Hammelman each tossed in six points in the loss.
