During a week’s residency at Wakefield, students from pre-K and kindergarten through the upper grades studied the art of songwriting with Reisler who has garnered an Emmy nomination for his “Kid Pan Alley” album this year and his special guest singer-songwriter from Nashville, Kathy Hussey. Sitting in on one such class was an eye-opening experience as the students suggested lyrics for a tune that Reisler strummed on his guitar and all refined as Hussey wrote the students’ suggestions on the blackboard.
