Hut Kappanannock got no closer. Madison did an excellent job handling the basketball and playing keep away from the Lady Panthers. Terrell then iced the game by hitting a pair of free throws with nine seconds left for a Madison win.

Free-throw shooting, which had been one of Rappahannock’s most improved area in recent games, hurt the Lady Panthers against the Lady Mountaineers. They sank just 10 of 20 attempts from the line.

“We ran the offense well,” Jenkins said, “but we missed a few important baskets.”

“They wanted to exceed those five wins, but that didn’t happen,” Jenkins added. “We have seven returning players. Well regroup.”
