hummer camp theme

This summer, local children will be investigating these and many other questions that relate to the theme of ibaby animals.” They will have this opportunity at the Rappahannock Nature Camp, which is held every year at Singing Creek, just south of Spenyville on the Hazel River.

The Rappahannock Nature Camp is meant to open the eyes of local children to the marvels of nature all around us, as another Nature Camp (at Vesuvius, Virginia) opened my eyes and sustained my interest many years ago. Without such an appreciation and sense of awe and wonder of our natural surroundings, concepts of “conservation” and “environment” acquired later in life will inevitably become abstract and self-centered. Our camp is one of about 10 similar camps initiated by the Piedmont Environmental Council
