Here comes

the snowplow

When I was a kid and we received a decent snowfall, we used to wait to see the snowplow come through. We thought that was great fun, to see the big truck and plow clearing our little road in one fell swoop.

And speaking as one who was crazy enough to let the young ones talk him into going to a bluegrass concert in Berryville during one of the biggest snow storms in some time, kudos and thanks to the folks clearing the roads in Rappahannock. As far as me and mine are concerned, you did a wonderful job this time around. Keep up the good work.

And while the subject is highways, how many of you can find a phone number for the VDOT office between Washington and Sperryville in the phone book. I. haven’t been able to do that, so, here it is, write it down. The number is 540-987-8939.

They are nice folks, but you can’t call them and tell them about the pipe that’s clogged up or the dead cat in the road if you don’t have the phone number. And, thanks to the county administrator’s office who gave me the number. I think they have had requests for this one before.

Until next time, stay well and warm, and 111 see you in the funny papers.
