I Ull V/UUJ Virginia’s horse country from her time with the Canadian three-day event team: riders traveled south to compete and qualify each year, and she’d spent time in the Middleburg area. Tbo, friend Gille has long been in Rappahannock, managing her own boarding, breeding and training operation, Sandy Hook.
Gille often stops in the store to assist Whaley unpacking and reorganizing the store. “I know she’s planning some changes,” Gille says. “More tack, new lines. But its all good change. Great for the area.”
Whaley stands and brushes packing peanuts from her lap. “Look. All different styles.” She holds aloft a sheepskin saddle pad, Mattes brand - new to Horse and Hound. “Now. Where to put it?” She heads for a display rack just as the backdoor buzzer sounds once again to alert another delivery.
