RECREATION CENTER ASSISTANT

Two positions available at the new Claude Moore Recreation Center in Sterling, VA. Plan and implement programs, activities, classes and special events to assure program quality and that revenue projections are met. Recruit and interview class instructors, schedule facilities, and coordinate equipment and supplies. Implement survey instruments to identify trends and to assure programs meet citizen expectations and needs. Develop a variety of programs to serve all segments of a diverse population and develop marketing materials to promote programs. Oversee and perform general supervision of facility drop-in users, renters and participants according to department policies and procedures. Identify potential hazards and enforce safety regulations that affect public safety health, human behavior, and social activities. Supervise staff and manage the center operation in the absence of the Center Managers. Handle customer service concerns in accordance with center and department guidelines. Must be willing to work a very flexible work schedule; nights, days and weekends to meet center needs. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School and 4 years of directly related experience in community and group recreational programming. Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred. CPR, First Aid, T.B., Daily Health Screening, and Bloodborne Pathogen certifications required. Sworn Disclosure Statement, Criminal History, CPS Registry checks, driver2s license and DMV Drivers Check are required. Prefer pool operators license.
