could do was an article written by an instructor at the Naval Academy, who’s certainly qualified to have such an opinion whether or not you agree with it, I felt reassured. I was wrong again. The polls seemed to be stuck on stupid.
Now we have another Allen ad dripping with sanctimony from a woman who claims Webb’s opinion was somehow harmful to her. Your garden variety smear ad. Certainly money can buy that kind of thing nicely also.
The two men are the same as they were when I first compared them. One is still clearly superior to the other in every conceivable way, macaca aside, bogus good ole boy wannabe act and history of cruelty to animals, terrorizing black families and regular use of the N word aside, article about women in combat and homy women’s dream comment aside, the two men’s credentials and qualifications are still the same. Webb is the superior candidate in every conceivable way. He’s a conservative Democrat. He’s a genuine, authentic Virginian. He’s a highly decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam war. He served as Secretary of the Navy under Ronald Reagan. He is the kind of honorable, conservative man any Virginian should be proud to have represent us in the Senate. And there sit the polls at a dead heat. A dead heat between a glass of vintage Southern champagne and a can of carpetbagger Colt 45. I still have no explanation for it that makes any sense. But my fondest hope remains, that Virginians turn out in force and make bars out of those polls, and put a man in office to represent us we can be proud of, instead of one we have to apologize for. I don’t believe there’s a single Virginian who really wants anything less.
