Grant appropriations
Chappell also presented to the school board a report concerning the additional appropriation request for the 2006-07 school budget approved by the Board of Supervisors. •
The money appropriated into the budget was primarily federal grant money, donations from Headwaters, and donations from the Ann Spieker Fund. It also included a $17,208.96 vehicle insurance claim and a $18,899.11 theft insurance claim.
The theft claim was made after a thief broke into the high school last summer, stealing band equipment and power tools. New money spent was half of the cost of a HVAC position shared with the County. This totaled to $30,228.13.
This appropriation adds $314,284.00 of various grants and donations to the school budget, making the total school budget stand at $12,047,276.
