Photo by Richard Lykes BUILDING BUDDIES: Shop students from Scott Schlosser’s building trade class helped out at Nancy McEvoy Skylama Farm in Flint Hill this week. As Schlosser explained his building trade students go around the county by request of county residents to oo projects and gain “real work experience.” The gioup has built sheds, garages, refinished basements (including sheet rock work) and siding on houses. These are all considered “turn-key” projects and give students the opportunity to learn various aspects of the building trade. With experience in many different fields (such as laying concrete, refinishing walls, hanging siding, etc.), these students will have a “feel” for what they might like to do when they go out in the real world to work after high school.
