The Daughters of the American Revolution will hold their 11:30 a. m. meeting at the home of Cathy Champigny. The program “Remembering Betty Washington Lewis” will be presented by Mrs. Guy Oldaker of “Western View". Betty Washington, the younger sister of George Washington, was bom in 1733 and died on March 31,1797, while visiting her daughter in Culpeper County. Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company wilt celebrate its 50th anniversary with cake and beverages on October 14 from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. The event will consist of fire equipment displays and Open House, Children Fire Prevention Training/prizes, free blood pressure screening and snow cones and cotton candy, smoke detectors and batteries.
