An old tradition
comes home
Speaking of events and much needed support, the Chester Gap Vol. Fire Department will once again be making what really amounts to a tradition within the department. Yes, I know it’s been a few years since they’ve done it but it’s been a part of the history of the department since the beginning and, well, it’s only natural that it be a part of the department’s fall fund-raising schedule of events. “What is it?”, you might ask. If you haven’t already guessed, well, it’s fresh, homemade, make-youwant-to-sass your-mommait’s-so-good, apple butter!
That’s right, it’s back and the department needs your help to make it a success. The Fire Department is in need of quart and pint mason jars, lids, help with peeling and cooking of the apples and any and all donations to help offset the cost of the sugar and spices used to season the apple butter.
