Rappahannock News Staff Writer
The Rappahannock Varsity Football team won their first game in over a year, beating Chincoteague High School with a smashing score of 48-8. “I was very happy to watch these boys win a game,” said Coach Pullen. “They have always come out and given it their best shot.” Pullen said that the Chincoteague team’s size and numbers were comparable to the Panthers, which allowed the Varsity team to focus more on the game.
Players of the team were elated as they racked up stellar personal statistics. Bobby Czekaj had 137 rushing yards on six carries, scoring two running touchdowns for the Panthers. “Bobby Czekaj is one of the fastest kids in the district,” said Pullen proudly, “He really proved what he is capable of if the team can give him room to run.”
